Community Listening Sessions

Community Listening Sessions bring the court conversation out of the courthouse and into the spaces where neighbors already gather. Whether you are part of an HOA, a faith community, a neighborhood watch, or a local nonprofit, we will sit down with your group for an honest, structured discussion about community safety, access to the courts, and how local justice can work better for everyone.
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
Unlike a campaign rally or lecture, a listening session is built around your questions. We begin with a short, plain‑spoken overview of what the Magistrate Court actually does-warrants, small claims, landlord-tenant issues, and preliminary criminal matters-then open the floor. Residents can raise concerns about response times, communication gaps, fines and fees, or any barriers they have faced trying to get help from the legal system.
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
With decades of service across military police, local and state law enforcement, and federal roles that demanded a Top Secret Security Clearance, we know how important trust and transparency are to public safety. In these sessions, we listen first, then explain what can realistically be improved through better procedures, clearer information, and respectful treatment in the courtroom.
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
Sessions can be hosted in fellowship halls, neighborhood clubhouses, community centers, or online for groups with mobility or scheduling challenges. We work with your leadership to keep the environment civil, focused, and welcoming to every voice-homeowners, renters, seniors, young adults, and long‑time residents alike.
‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
By the end of a Community Listening Session, your members leave knowing that their concerns have been heard directly, without filters, and that there is a concrete vision for a Magistrate Court that is more accessible, consistent, and attentive to the realities families face on the ground.
