The Chief Magistrate Judge serves as the front door to Monroe County’s court system, requiring a leader with unquestioned integrity, administrative maturity, and deep respect for due process. Stewart brings an exceptional record of service spanning the U.S. Army Military Police, executive federal enforcement administration overseeing agencies like the U.S. Secret Service and ATF, and 13 years managing state operations across all 159 Georgia counties.
Holding an Executive Juris Doctor of Law, a Doctor of Public Administration, and extensive National Center for State Courts judicial training, Stewart combines formal legal education with practical administrative capability. We are committed to leading a court where law enforcement, business owners, and local residents are heard with equal fairness and absolute constitutional accountability.
